Michael and Johnny Cronin are a Leeds/Irish songwriting duo from County Longford, Ireland. They have been releasing music since 2006 and have since established themselves as influential figures on the Irish music scene. Known for their evocative sound and dedication to their craft, the Cronin brothers have achieved both critical and commercial success.
Their music has received airplay across national and international platforms, including RTÉ Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, and XFM. They have also made frequent television appearances, including performances on The Late Late Show, The Last Broadcast; and Saturday Night with Miriam O’Callaghan.
Their collaborative work with iconic artists further underscores their impact. They served as musical directors for the Shane MacGowan Late Late Show Special in 2019, assembling a band that included members of The Pogues, Glen Hansard, and Lisa O’Neill. They’ve also performed at high-profile events such as Shane MacGowan’s wedding (alongside Johnny Depp) and his funeral (with Nick Cave); and appeared in Julien Temple’s acclaimed documentary A Crock of Gold.
